Letter 45/79... A warrant accompanied prisoner William Fox to Newcastle gaol by which he was ordered to undergo imprisonment with hard labour for 3 months and a recommendation of the Singleton Bench that his ticket of leave be cancelled however under the circumstances of the gaol the sentence awarded would be no punishment and would cause unnecessary expense to the government and so Major Crummer recommended that Fox be transferred to the Stockade at Newcastle instead
